What We Offer & Minimum Requirements
Stockmans Choice Auction offers two ways to list: Elite Class, our original and most rigorous program, and Standard Class, a lower-barrier option for sellers who want a simpler path to market. Every lot, Elite or Standard, is clearly labeled so buyers know exactly what they're bidding on. Review the category minimums for each program below before submitting your lot.
ELITE CLASS
OPEN HEIFERS
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:

Heifers must be 600 pounds or more
-
Heifers cannot exceed 2 years of age
-
Owner must own ALL of the heifers sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days
-
Owner must have weaned these calves for a minimum of 60 days before sale
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs
-
Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
BRED HEIFERS
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:
-
Heifers must be 800 pounds or more
-
Heifers cannot exceed 3 years of age
-
Owner must own ALL of the heifers sold in this lot for a minimum of 150 days
-
Heifers must be confirmed bred by a licensed veterinarian in their 2nd or 3rd trimester
-
Heifers must be bred by a registered bull and copy of registration papers required
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs
-
Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
1ST CALF HEIFER PAIRS (OPEN)
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:
-
Heifers must be 800 pounds or more
-
Heifers cannot exceed 4 years of age
-
Calves must be at least 2 months old
-
Owner must own ALL of the heifers sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days
-
Heifers must be checked for pregnancy and confirmed open by a licensed veterinarian
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs
-
Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
1ST CALF HEIFER PAIRS (EXPOSED)
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:

Heifers must be 800 pounds or more
-
Heifers cannot exceed 4 years of age
-
Calves must be at least 2 months old
-
Owner must own ALL of the heifers sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days

Owner must sign form confirming the length of exposure to registered bull(s)

Registration papers of the bull(s) must accompany the health certificate
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs

Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
BRED COWS
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:

Cows must be 5 years or younger
-
Owner must own ALL of the cows sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days
-
Cows must be pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian
-
Cows must be bred in their 2nd or 3rd trimester at time of sale
-
Copy of bull’s registration papers required
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs

Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
COWS WITH CALVES (OPEN)
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:

Cows must be 5 years or younger
-
Owner must own ALL of the cows sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days

Cows must be pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian and confirmed open

Calves must be a minimum of 2 months of age

COWS WITH CALVES (EXPOSED)

REGISTERED BULLS
Elite Class - Minimum Requirements at Time of Sale:

Bulls must be 15-48 months old
-
Owner must own ALL of the bulls sold in this lot for a minimum of 100 days

Registration papers of the bull must accompany the health certificate
-
Bulls must be fertility tested within 2 months or less from time of sale and confirmed as satisfactory breeders
-
Bulls must be trich tested with a negative result 2 months or less
-
Health standards must be met per Elite Health Certification Specs
-
Elite Vet Health Check signed by a licensed veterinarian must be provided
STANDARD CLASS
Standard Class is built for sellers who want to list quickly with essential veterinary oversight — no weight, ownership-duration, or vaccination requirements beyond what's noted below.

*All Standard Class livestock must have an easily legible identification tag matching the documented information required. Our Standard Vet Health Check form signed by a licensed veterinarian and the owner must be provided when the lot requirements call for it.

OPEN HEIFERS
-
No weight, age, or palpation restrictions.
BRED HEIFERS
-
Palpated or ultra-sounded by a licensed veterinarian to confirm palpation status.
1ST CALF HEIFER PAIRS (OPEN)
-
Aged and palpated by a licensed veterinarian to determine pregnancy status.
1ST CALF HEIFER PAIRS (EXPOSED)
-
Aged by a licensed veterinarian and sold as exposed to bull.
BRED COWS
-
Palpated and aged by a licensed veterinarian.
-
Cows 2 years old to short-and-solid are eligible to sell.
-
Old, broke-mouth cows are not eligible to sell. Young cows with a broken tooth are aged at their true age and not labeled broke-mouth.
COWS WITH CALVES (OPEN)
-
Aged and palpated by a licensed veterinarian to determine pregnancy status.
-
Same age eligibility as Bred Cows above.
COWS WITH CALVES (EXPOSED)
-
Aged by a licensed veterinarian and sold as exposed to bull.
-
Same age eligibility as Bred Cows above.
REGISTERED BULLS
-
Aged, fertility tested, and trich tested within 60 days prior to sale date.
